John Burn
John Burn’s participation on the Bay of Plenty Education Trust continues a long-term interest in education and general business and financial matters.
His involvement over the years with community and voluntary groups has been expansive and includes time spent on school committees and Boards of Governors.
He has also been involved with the Tauranga Chamber of Commerce, Junior Surf Life Saving, Life Education Trust, Elms Foundation (director), Tauranga Racing Club, Kiwifruit Coast Life Guard Foundation and Institute of Logistics and Transport.
John retired in 2002 following 40 years in the cargo-handling industry and this included being Owens Services BOP Ltd Managing Director. He is still actively involved as a director/shareholder of various companies.
His time on the Bay of Plenty Education Trust has included a two-year stint as Investment Committee Chairman.
John retired from the Bay of Plenty Education Trust in June 2020.
